URSS-United Rebel Sprint Series
Richardson Returns to WaKeeney Victory Lane with Milestone URSS Triumph
WaKeeney, KS 5/15/2026 (www.urssracing.com) - The United Rebel Sprint Series returned to WaKeeney on Friday night and it was Steven Richardson parking it in victory lane once again, capturing the 25-lap Eby Trailers & Truck Bodies A Feature over a stout 24-car field.
Starting from the outside of the front row, Richardson quickly put the No. 20 machine out front and held off Jordan Knight throughout the 25-lap main event to secure his second career URSS victory at the WaKeeney oval. His first triumph at the track came nearly a decade earlier on April 24, 2016.
The victory also carried major historical significance as Richardson’s 20th career URSS win moved him into a tie with Jeremy Huish and Jon Johnson on the series all-time wins list.
Jordan Knight crossed the stripe second after starting on the pole, while veteran Jeremy Huish charged from seventh to complete the podium in third. Zach Blurton continued his strong season with a fourth-place finish after winning Heat Race 3, while Taylor Velasquez rounded out the top five.
Conner Thomas brought home a solid sixth-place finish, with Ryan Rader making one of the biggest moves of the night, advancing from 19th to seventh at the checkered flag. Johnny Boos, Jon Freeman, and Ray Seemann completed the top ten.
The night began with three Momentum Suspensions heat races. Jordan Knight claimed Heat 1 honors, Tyler Knight captured Heat 2, and Zach Blurton stormed from sixth to win Heat 3.
Several drivers encountered trouble during the A Feature, including Tyler Knight, Ace Moore, Kelby Fetters, Dalton Webb, Brayton Dewell, TJ Kleymann, Willie Wynn, Zac Zeller, and Charlee Chaffin, all recording DNFs.
The United Rebel Sprint Series now turns its attention to the next stop on the 2026 campaign at Dodge City Raceway Park on Saturday for the Rick Salem Memorial.
